About InVivoSIM anti-human CD326 (EpCAM) (Edrecolomab Biosimilar) This biosimilar antibody uses the same variable regions as the therapeutic antibody Edrecolomab, making it ideal for research use. Edrecolomab is a murine monoclonal antibody which reacts with tumor-associated epithelial cell adhesion molecule (EpCAM), also known as CD326 and 17-1A. EpCAM is a 40-42 kDa cell-surface type 1 transmembrane glycoprotein expressed on most epithelial cells as well as a small subset of peripheral T cells, keratinocytes, Langerhans cells and thymic, lymph node, and splenic dendritic cells. EpCAM is also expressed by various carcinomas, including those of the colon and breast. CD326 mediates cell-cell adhesion and may function as a growth factor receptor. Upon binding to EpCAM, Edrecolomab recruits the body's immune effector cells, which may exhibit antitumor cytotoxicity.
